My daughter always seems to be tired and/or sick with a cold or allergies. Should she be taking vitamins? What about omega 3 fish oil? We both do not eat sea food at all.

Taking a quality multivitamin mineral and the omega 3 fish oils is a good start in providing a nutritional base to build on...but a natural, whole foods diet is paramount to obtaining optimal health. Vitamins can only help us utilize our food properly to make energy. In order to receive optimal energy from our food we need to eat about every 4 hours throughout the day, making healthy choices.

Is your daughter eating a high protein breakfast to start her day? Breakfast can be the most important meal as it sets the tone for the rest of the day. Is she getting enough sleep at night? The body rests and repairs during its deep sleep cycle. These lifestyle factors play an important role in determining how the immune system functions. The first two documents attached discuss ways to boost the immune system through diet and supplements. The document on natural foods goes into greater detail on why the foundation for good health is dependant on supporting the body with an optimal amount of nutrients. A document on fish oils will explain the benefits of incorporating them into the diet.

Allergies can be very stressful on the body, cause fatigue and weaken the immune system. Finding and eliminating the triggers as much a possible will help.

If you would like more help and support with your daughter I recommend setting up a coaching session with one of our Nutritional Health Coaches. This is a free service.
